Give home a whole new meaning to STAYCATIONS
There is no proper way to staycation, which means it is easily adjustable to all lifestyles and age ranges. Nonetheless, I will still be giving you some guiding tips so that planning can be a breeze.
First- Set a Boundary: How far are you willing to go? I would try and keep any driving to under 2 hours, so that you can go a little outside of your comfort zone in your homes surrounding neighborhoods. How long will this Staycation be?
Second- Do Your Research: Use apps like Yelp and Tripadvisor to learn about different things your town has to offer. You can also find some cool sites if you google ‘town name tour guide’. If you’re an Orlando local check my Orlando Menu guide on IG to see some great restaurants and cafes. Change your perspective, and don’t just think of your town in context of today, consider your towns history! Try to find a historical landmark, or even just the oldest building in the town. Make a list of at least 5 places that you are interested in visiting, and set reservations if necessary. You need to transform your view, and think of your town as paradise on Earth, the hottest tourist location right now.
Third- Go Out and Live: Keep the list of 5 places to reference as your loose itinerary for the day. Make sure you keep track of the time to stay on top of the reservations, and go. Go explore your town. Wander through it if you must; no end goal just admiring where you are. Cherish the little things: the rose growing through the sidewalk cracks.
Pro-tip- Leave in the early evening with your favorite playlist and a car, and keep driving until you can see the sun set. Then pull over to take it all in. You can also do this with the sun rise as well.
