The one thing I miss most about Italy besides the architecture, BGY’s short security lines, and my friends, is the food!
Italian was my favorite cuisine for most of my life. So, you could imagine my excitement when I moved to Milan to study at Bocconi University. I went to a lot of restaurants around Bocconi, because my apartment was too far for me to go home for lunch in between classes. However, this gave me the opportunity to find the best locations near campus for flavor and value!
I made a google maps list of 50+ restaurants so it’s easily save-able. I’ve also added filters to highlight study cafes and Bocconi basics, which is what I named my favorite spots near “campus.”
For when you get #milanmunchies!
But don’t worry guys, I didn’t just eat out! Milan was my first time with an apartment so I got to attempt to create some of the amazing recipes. My original plan was to befriend a nonna that would pass her secrets on to me but sadly that did not work.
I did however, book a lovely cooking class with my family. This lady took us into her home and taught us how to make pasta, sauce, and tiramisu from scratch (book the same experience through TripAdvisor here)!

While I think I did a pretty great job, I’ll admit it wasn’t the best pasta I’ve ever had. No worries though, because I’ve highlighted the best places from my list below!
